Rendezvous: Philippe Hurel 2, June 20
Carlos de Castellarnau explores concepts of multiplicity, of fragmentation, and of non-linearity in music by exploring to the fullest both contrast and heterogeneity. His view of music comes from a plastic vision of sound.
In 2010, he continued his studies in Barcelona (ESMUC) and at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. In 2013, he followed IRCAM’s Cursus for composition and computer music program. Among his teachers, we can cite Ramon Humet, Agustin Charles, and Stefano Gervasoni. Castellarnau’s music has received numerous awards and has won several competitions including the ALEA III (Boston, 2011), the Joan Guinjoan competition (2012), the Primio di Trieste (2012), and the Banc d’Essais de l’INA/GRM (2013).
