Marc Garcia Vitoria received his diploma from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona (ESMUC) where he studied under Luis Naón, Ramón Lazkano, and  Gabriel Brnčic and his Master’s in electro-acoustic and instrumental composition from the HEM in Geneva where he studied under Michael Jarrell, Luis Naón, and Éric Daubresse. Marc completed his training at IRCAM in Paris with the Cursus 1 and 2, under Yan Maresz and was supported by a scholarship from the Caixa foundation for his post-graduate studies.

He has followed numerous composition seminars including Royaumont, Voix Nouvelles 2010 and master classes with prestigious composers. Marc has had residencies in 2008 (Joves Intèrprets Catalans IV), 2011-2012 (“Transforme/Écrire”, fondation Royaumont), and 2014 (Klassenarbeit, ensemble Recherche).

From 2011 to 2014 he worked as a teaching assistant in the composition class at the HEM in Geneva.
