On “Requiem for a Young Poet” by Bernd Alois Zimmermann

A unique work for a large number of performers, a tragically existential project, the Requiem for a Young Poet was written from 1955 to 1969, the year of its premiere.

The encounter with this major score of the 20th century addresses the major musical, political, philosophical, even theological issues found in the work, in addition to the challenge of its heritage.
